Terms of Use

Version 1.0 (draft). Applies to Letmark 1.0 for iPhone, iPad and Mac.

1. These terms

These terms are between you and the developer of Letmark (“we”). They apply when you use the Letmark app (“the app”). The app is licensed to you through the App Store under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Apple EULA”). These terms add to the Apple EULA. Where they conflict, the Apple EULA applies.

2. What the app is

Letmark is a tool for your own records. It has three modules:

  • Deals calculates figures for rental deals from the numbers you enter.
  • Leases keeps track of leases, rent changes, renewal letters and renewals.
  • Renewals keeps track of licences, permits, policies, filings and other deadlines you enter, with their documents and reminders.

3. Not advice

  • Deals results are estimates only, not financial, investment, tax or lending advice. They depend entirely on the numbers and assumptions you enter. The formulas are shown in the app.
  • Leases applies only the notice periods and rent changes you enter. Notice periods and permitted rent increases are set by the law where the property is. The app contains no legal rules. Its letter templates are generic drafts. You must review every letter, and check it against the law that applies to you, before you send it.
  • Renewals tracks the deadlines you enter. It contains no regulatory requirements and cannot tell you what you are required to hold or file, or when. Reminders depend on your device’s settings, such as whether notifications are allowed. You remain responsible for meeting your obligations.

Get advice from a qualified professional before relying on any figure, letter or date for a decision.

4. Your data

Your records belong to you. They are stored on your devices, as described in the Privacy Policy. We have no copy of them and cannot recover them for you. Use Export Everything in Settings to keep your own backup.

You are responsible for having the right to store the details of other people you enter, such as tenants and the people responsible for an obligation, and for what you send them.

5. Messages and files you send

The app never sends anything by itself. When you send a letter, message, PDF or export, you choose the recipient and send it yourself through the system share sheet, Mail or Messages. You are responsible for what you send.

6. Letmark Pro subscription

  • Creating and editing records needs an active Letmark Pro subscription. One subscription unlocks all three modules.
  • It is offered monthly (US$19.99) or yearly (US$179.99). Prices in other countries are set by the App Store and shown before you buy.
  • Each plan includes a 14-day free trial for eligible new subscribers. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts and is charged.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple Account. The subscription renews automatically for the same period at the then-current price until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time in your Apple Account’s subscription settings, or from Settings › Subscription › Manage Subscription in the app, at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Purchases, renewals, cancellations and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s terms. We cannot issue refunds ourselves.
  • If your subscription ends, you keep read-only access to everything you created, including Show Proof in Renewals, and you can still export and erase your data. We never hold your data back.

7. Acceptable use

Do not use the app to break the law, to infringe anyone’s rights, or to send messages that people have not agreed to receive. Do not try to get around the subscription.

8. Availability and changes

We may update the app and these terms. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will update this page and its version line before the change applies. Features that depend on your device, such as on-device suggestions, may not be available on every device.

9. Warranty and liability

To the extent the law allows, the app is provided “as is”, and we are not liable for losses that come from relying on its figures, letters, dates or reminders, or from data lost on your devices. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited. The Apple EULA’s warranty and liability terms also apply.

10. Governing law

The governing law and the developer’s legal name are added when these terms are reviewed for publication.
